Colorado Swimming Pools

If you’re looking for a good pool for cooling off, taking a mineral soak or perhaps swimming laps, Colorado has lots of choices.

For hot springs and mineral pools, Hot Sulphur Spring Resorts near Winter Park Ski Resort features 21 pools fed by seven natural springs. There are both indoor and outdoor pools, and temps run from 95F all the way to 112F.

Granddaddy of all Colorado pools, the Glenwood Hot Springs pool is part of the hotel but also open to the public. It’s a big hummer, about two blocks in length, and the temp is maintained at 90-93F year-round. It has dedicated lap lanes, a diving pool and a therapeutic pool kept at 104F. If you’re looking for an indoor pool, the Salida Aquatic Center is the largest indoor hot spring pool facility in the state. It has a six-lane lap pool and a smaller kids pool. The facility is fed by hot springs.

In the Denver metro area, the Wheat Ridge Rec Center has a 25-yard, eight-lane competition pool as well as a leisure pool with a water slide and “lazy river.” There’s also a sauna, whirlpool and steam room. And in nearby Golden you’ll find Splash Aquatic Park, with an eight-lane lap pool for competition with blocks and a diving board. There is also an aquatic park with slides, fountains, a sand area and wading area.
